Fishing
Revisiting the Honey Hole (Part 1)
Returned to the honey hole to see if it is still producing. It looked like it was going to be amazing, but I had to work through a few struggles in the beginning. A good reminder to always check your rig before heading out to fish. If you need a new hook, new leader, fresh line at the knot or new line altogether. Check before you go and you can avoid what I went through. Missed two fish because of my failure to ensure my rig was in good working order.
Finding a Honey Hole (Part 3)
Finishing off the day with a surprising number of fish. Considering I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to catch anything in the beginning, what a day it turned out to be. If you can try a different rig, use your eyes to look for evidence of where the fish are, and then work to make things happen, you can turn a bad day into a great one.
Finding a Honey Hole (Part 2)
Keeping the honey hole fishing going. What a turn of events. From thinking about giving up to giving a spot a chance that normally the fish are never at. Turned out to be a winner.
Finding a Honey Hole (Part 1)
I started off with my usual rig, but soon decided to try the ultralight with a float as well. I wasn't getting any interest, so I started to try other spots of the pond. Like I always say, "In order to catch fish, you have to go where the fish are." I found the fish in a nice little honey hole and turned a slow day into a great one.
Finding the Fish (Part 2)
Once you find the fish, things get easier. All it comes down to now is finding the best bait for their appetites. Changing things up runs some risk of finding something they are not interested in, but it could also mean doubling or tripling your catch rate.
