Struggling with the Hookset (Part 1)

Location: Stocked Pond

Bait: Powerbait Wiggler & Eggs

Rig: Slip Weight Bottom Rig with Floating Bait

The struggle was real today as I had a really difficult time keeping my hookset. I lost almost as many fish as I landed. I think it was due to a combination of things. My timing was off for sure on setting the hook, just unlucky I think. My hook was also not super sharp anymore. The fish were also working hard to force me to drag them through the vegetation and were then keen on their aerials. Altogether it resulted in a lot of failed landings.

Thanks for joining me on my fishing adventures. I hope to see you again next week.
