Monster Rainbow Trout

Location: Kleiner Pond, Boise, Idaho

Bait: Powerbait Eggs

Rig: Slip Weight and Drop Shot with Floating Bait Off the Bottom on Telescopic Rods & Pfleuger Spinning Reels.

Species: Rainbow Trout & Palomino Trout

I went back to the local pond looking for more palomino trout. I found one on my first cast while still trying to set up my drop shot rig. That was grand enough, but the final trout I hooked into was the largest I've caught this year. It was both gorgeous and massive. While I love catching these rare palominos, a monster rainbow with a lot of fight is just as wonderful for me to hook into. What a grand day.

Thanks for joining me on my fishing adventures. I hope to see you again next week.
